Aligning Components
The Layout Editor provides a number of features that facilitate alignment and
distribution of components with respect to one another:
“Alignment Tool” on page 6-39 — align and distribute groups of components.
“Property Inspector” on page 6-41 — align components by modifying their
Position properties.
“Grid and Rulers” on page 6-42 — align components on a grid with optional
snap to grid.
“Guide Lines” on page 6-43 — vertical and horizontal snap-to guides at
arbitrary locations.
Alignment Tool
The Alignment Tool enables you to position objects with respect to each other
and to adjust the spacing between selected objects. The specified alignment
operations apply to all components that are selected when you press the
Apply
button.
Note To select multiple components, they must have the same parent. That
is, they must be contained in the same figure, panel, or button group. See
“Selecting Components” on page 6-31 for more information.
